John McQueeney
Texas House Representative, House District 97
First elected in 2024, Representative John McQueeney serves in the Texas House of Representatives serving the people of District 97, which includes portions of southwest Tarrant County. House District 97 includes areas of Fort Worth and surrounding communities such as Tanglewood, Overton, Hulen, Mira Vista, Benbrook, Edgecliff Village, White Settlement, and parts of Crowley.
Rep. McQueeney began his first term in the 89th Legislative Session and sits on several key committees in the Texas House, including the State Affairs Committee, its Subcommittee on Telecommunications & Broadband, Licensing & Administrative Procedures, and the Select Committees on Congressional Redistricting and General Aviation. His assignments reflect his focus on expanding economic opportunity, improving essential infrastructure, and protecting the rights and interests of Texas families for future generations.
Before entering public service, John built a diverse business career in the private sector. A proud graduate of Texas Christian University’s M.J. Neeley School of Business, he earned a double major in E-Business and Marketing and went on to work in corporate leasing, logistics, and national retail development. John has grown multiple small businesses over the years. His experience includes operating McDonald’s franchises and building a FedEx contracting and logistics operation into a 50-truck fleet. Most recently, John acquired Chicken Express restaurants across Texas, with future plans for growth.
Outside of business and public service, John is active in his community and remains closely connected to TCU through his work on several boards and committees, including serving as an Advisory Director at Austin County State Bank in Bellville.
John lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Katie, and their two children, Jack and Sheridan. The McQueeneys attend St. Patrick’s Cathedral and remain active in their children’s school and community activities.
Charlie Geren
Texas House Representative, House District 99
Long before Charlie Geren became a state representative, he and the Geren family were familiar fixtures in Fort Worth and Northwest Tarrant County. Charlie himself has taken an active role in an amazing number of civic organizations working to improve the community. President of Railhead Smokehouse, he is also considered one of our area’s foremost barbecue masters (which is, of course, another vital way to improve our community).
Prior to serving in the Texas House, Charlie took an active role in local and statewide water policy and planning, serving on the Texas Water Development Board and as Chairman of the Texas Resource Finance Authority for five years. He was also an elected member of the Tarrant Regional Water District Board of Directors for four years. From 1981 to 1990, Charlie was a Deputy to the United States Marshals Service.
Charlie is a trustee of Texas Christian University and Vice President of the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show. He is president of the LGS Godley Ranch as well as Railhead Smokehouse, and is a principal and founding partner of the commercial real estate firm of Kelly, Geren, & Searcy.
Charlie is a proud grandparent who lives and ranches in the Fort Worth area.
